Now that he is having success might bring Happy back to Biff's football days when Biff had all the glory.  The fact that it may hold back the urge to try, i think not.  I think he will try harder to do just as good as his brother, so he and Biff can have a great life and get that farm they always dreamed about.  Since Happy has seen what doing nothing can get you in Biff's situation, he knows that he cannot afford to do it. Since Biff convinced Happy to get a farm with him, Happy might lose a great job which is making him a more than substantial living. Happy and Biff are very close, there is no denying that, which means that they might be able to persuade each other to do something that is not best for that person but instead is best for the person doing the persuading.
