Summary about Meeting 1:

Today was the first meeting for our book The Last Song. We discussed about the questions that Brian Johnson made. We all currently enjoy the book up to this point. Even though we forgot to bring the food, we still had a good time discussing about this book. Alec was a little confused about one section fo the book, so Laura helped him out a bit. We all hope that this book will stay interesting until the end.

Character Questions
Ronnie is a teenager who just can’t seem to get her act straight, and the last thing she wants is to see her father. She is stubborn and angry with her dad. She is kind of annoying in the beginning when she continues to yell at her dad when he plays the piano just because she doesn’t play anymore. When living in New York she would go to clubs and stuff whenever she wanted, but at the beach it was different. She brings drama to the book and I like how we can’t necessarily figure her out.
Jonah is just a little kid. He thinks it is amazing that his dad has a house on the beach even though it is ugly and small. He has fun when doing things like flying a kite, and when he works on the glass window for the church with his dad. I just enjoy his character because it brings happiness to the story.
Blaze is the first person Ronnie befriends when she gets to the beach. She hangs out with people that are creepy like Marcus. From the beginning Ronnie didn’t like her hanging with Marcus. Blaze is similar to Ronnie because she is always fighting with her mother or just not talking to her, so that is why the two of them got along in the beginning. I liked her character until she framed Ronnie in the music store and got Ronnie arrested.
Steve who is Ronnie’s father is one of my favorite characters. He is quiet, calm and he clearly loves his children. He takes so much time out of his day to play and hang out with Jonah, and when Ronnie didn’t like him playing the piano, he put up a wall so she couldn’t even see it. He is very determined and dedicated to get the love and acceptance of his daughter and I respect his resilience. After the divorce Ronnie shunned him for 3 years, and to gain her trust back was a very hard task that he knew he would ultimately achieve.
There are no characters we as a group cannot stand, but we all agree that when Blaze framed Ronnie at the music store we all hated her for a while.
