Among the Hidden by Margaret Haddix, tells a story about Luke who is a third child, in which third children are prohibited. Through out the book Haddix writes about Luke’s adventures “Among the Hidden”. Luke then sees a girl, Jen, in his neighbor’s house when he knows they already have two boys. Jen is a very bold character who I can relate myself to. She knows what she wants and she strives to get it. In her case she wants freedom, freedom also being the theme of this book.
I would recommend this book to all kids who enjoy reading adventurous books filled with suspense. The author also creates a dramatic and shocking ending. Would you die for freedom?
