Mood/Tone:

The mood and tone of the book is very tense as the characters lie not only to each other, but also to themselves. Larry's death is a prime example. Keller and Chris have internal struggles about the knowledge of the defective parts while they lie to Mother and Ann. This creates a lot of tension between the characters and also leads to blame. Keller blames Steve for the faulty parts, George blames Keller for Steve's incarceration and Chris blames Keller for Larry's death. All this tension and blame give the reader an anxious feeling as well as a feeling of deceit and deviousness.

Summary:
In the second meeting, we discussed the ending of the play. Matt and Eric believed that Keller should have committed suicide, but Joe and Adam believed that Keller should go to jail. We all believed that the mood was very tense because there was a lot of betrayal between characters. There is a lot of tension between both the Keller and Deever families; they blamed each other for the death of Larryl During this meeting, all of us ate Dominos pizza, bread sticks, and Diet Coke. We had a very nice time discussing the mood of the play and enjoyed talking about the play while listening to classical music and wearing preppy clothes.
